Book Week 2020

The official dates for the CBCA Book Week have been changed for this year to OCT 17-23. Our St. Peter’s Book Week will look a little different as well.

  1. There will be no parade, but we will have a dress-up day on Friday 23rd. Students will dress up according to the theme “Curious Creatures, Wild Minds” and will have some special visitors come to their classroom for photos and an activity. (Some ideas for dress ups.........curious creatures.....bunyips, mermaids, dragons, unicorns, giants, fairies, ogres, ghosts, genies, hobbits, trolls, elves, robots etc.)
  2. This year we are running a “Book Week Challenge.” Students will design and make a creation to be displayed in the library for the whole week. Some prizes will be awarded for outstanding creations. Your creation will fit with the Book Week theme “Curious Creatures, Wild Minds” and may take any form ( writing, poetry, construction, lego, cardboard, papier mache, baking, sewing artwork, sculpture, digital production, a game........anything your wild mind can create. All creations must be handed in to the library or placed in the “Principals Challenge” folder in Teams by Friday 16th October. No late entries will be accepted.
  3. Years Prep to Year 2 will have visiting author Cori Brooke to speak to them in groups on Monday 19th Oct and Years 3-6 will be visited by Brian Doyle and illustrator and cartoonist on Wednesday 21st Oct. Both visitors will come in with COVID safe arrangements.
