Changing our Hearts this Lent

The season of Lent is one of opportunity for growth for each of us. We need to be kind to ourselves and nurture our spirits with prayer. We are also asked to fast and give to the poor. Pope Francis states, "No act of virtue can be great if it is not followed by advantage for others. So, no matter how much time you spend fasting, if you do no good to others, you do nothing great." So, if we’re going to fast from anything this Lent, Pope Francis suggests that even more than candy or alcohol, we fast from indifference towards others. When we fast from this indifference, we can begin to feast on love.

Here are some thoughts on how we can change our hearts this Lent.
