P&F News

For our first meeting of 2019, it was wonderful to welcome so many new parents at last night’s P&F meeting, especially all the new Prep Parents. It was also a nice welcome for our new P&F Executive - Sarah (President), Matthew (Vice-President), Alan (returning Treasurer) and Kelly (Secretary).

Corinne McMillan our local State Member for Mansfield was in attendance and gave an update on different funding opportunities that are available for the school community. Ms McMillan also gave an update on the Rochedale Road round-a-bout upgrade. There is a petition to urge work on this intersection to commence sooner rather than later and for provision of a safe school crossing for our students. If you would like to sign this petition, please click here.

Bronwyn provided an update on the positive start to Term 1 2019 the students, staff and families have had. The Goals for 2019 were shared with the group and they include a Strong Catholic Identity, Excellent Learning and Teaching, Sustainability, and Projects for 2019. Bronwyn also outlined the different extra curricula programs offered at St Peter's (Music, Arts and Sport) and the possible opportunities for growth in dance classes. If you haven’t had an opportunity to provide feedback on the recent Parent Information Night, please refer to the link in last week’s newsletter.

Thanks to everyone that came along to our Welcome Disco and for the Grade 6 families who ran this very successful and fun event! Don't forget to bookmark our upcoming events so you don’t miss out!

We are planning a Working Bee for July to work on areas behind the oval - otherwise known as 'No-Mans-Land' and looking at work that needs to be undertaken on the Paddock entrance. If you are a keen gardener or landscaper in your spare time, please get in touch

Other discussions at this week’s meeting included an update on the Mother's Day Stall that Grade 3 are hosting in May. They are looking for donations, so next time you are doing the groceries or Kmart perhaps pop some nail files, bath bombs or other goodies Mums would love to receive into your trolley.

Don’t forget to like our P&F Facebook page to stay up to date on events and other important P&F news! Our next meeting is on Monday the 11th of March, 7pm in the library. We extend an invitation to all families and teachers of the St Peter’s community to come along and help shape the school community.

Meeting: Second Monday of Month, 7:00pm in Library Meeting Room

All parents, teachers, and members of the community are welcome to attend the monthly meeting and have your opportunity to continue to make St Peter’s a great place for education of our children. All Parents are members of the St Peter’s P&F and are encouraged to attend and support where possible.
