Project Compassion

During Lent, St Peter’s School will again be supporting the Project Compassion Appeal. On Friday, each family will receive a small donations box to keep at home until the end of term 1.

Families are encouraged to add donations which will be sent to Caritas. Caritas has many initiatives around the world and through your donations, you are empowering communities with hope and helping those in great need to shape a better future for themselves, their families and their communities. You may also choose to donate online or phoning 1800 024 413.

On Tuesday our school captains attended the Project Compassion Launch at the Cathedral with Bishop Ken and students from all Brisbane Catholic Education Schools. Here is their reflection:

On Tuesday, we went to the St Stephen's Cathedral for Project Compassion. We were told how each and every donation means so much for the people who need it more than us. We were also asked to choose a symbol for our school to contribute to a chalk mural. As our leadership theme this year is 'light the way' we chose a flame and a lantern. Everyone will be handed a box for your donations and if you decide to give up something like lollies, the money that you were going to buy treats with you can now donate instead.
