Remarkable Moments of Learning Day

This Friday 15th November we will celebrate the remarkable moments of learning growth for all of our  learners. On this day we will acknowledge and celebrate the collective effort of all our students, teachers, parents and St Peter’s teaching and support staff in growing the engagement, progress, achievement and well being of every learner at our school, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy.

As our school community celebrates Remarkable Moments Day, we ask God’s blessing upon the day. We will celebrate it with a spirit of thanksgiving and celebration. Our school community is where one can find remarkable trust, partnership, collaboration and energy. A community is marked by its identity; by people connected to one another, identifying their community as important to them.

This is a time for us to reflect on the gift of learning. Things that are remarkable are also described as exceptional, amazing, astonishing, astounding, marvelous, wonderful or sensational; to name a few. You may like to pray this blessing in support of our special day.

Let us pray in celebration:
We pray for God’s blessing.
May we be learners of joy, laughter and enthusiasm.
May we be learners of invention and innovation.
May we be learners of motivation and adaptability.
May we be learners who celebrate our many gifts and achievements.
Let us be thankful for all that we have gained in our learning.
We ask this prayer in Jesus’ name, Amen.

This day will commence with open classrooms, followed by a special assembly presented by 5B. We
encourage as many families as possible to join us for this morning. Every child at our school has much
to be proud of this year, and we ask families to take the time to visit your child's classroom to view
samples of your child's work and celebrate their hard work and progress.

During our assembly we will also present our annual St Peter's awards. Classroom teachers have been
asked to nominate 3 different students who have exhibited significant achievement in one of the
following award categories.
  • St Mary Mackillop Academic Achievement Award -awarded to a student for consistently achieving and maintaining academic success in all areas of the curriculum.
  • Nano Nagle Growth Award -awarded to a student for showing commitment, persistence and diligence to studies and striving to grow in learning.
  • St Peter’s Spirit Award -awarded to a student for living out the Christian values of St Peters School – faith, peace, learning.

It is indeed an exciting time of year when we get to celebrate the successes of all our students. Make
sure you take the time to visit the growing wall of remarkable moments of writing at the back of our hall.
