Curriculum Capers - WALT'S and WILFS

It has been lovely to see all our classes already fully engaged in learning as I walk around the school this week. At the end of this week you will be provided with details of your child’s learning for the first part of this term, via the Curriculum Capers.

These Capers outline the significant WALT’s (What we are learning- from the Australian Curriculum Achievement Standards) and WILF’s (What we are looking for to demonstrate this learning) that your child will be working towards within all curriculum areas over the first half of this term.

The development of these WALT’s and WILF’s occur by first looking at the needs of our individual learners. Units of work are then developed in line with Australian Curriculum standards.

The Australian Curriculum is designed to develop successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. It is presented as a progression of learning from Foundation - Year 10 that makes clear to teachers, parents, students and others in the wider community what is to be taught, and the quality of learning expected of young people as they progress through school.
PLEASE NOTE This Curriculum Capers will no longer be printed, but will be able to be accessed via our
school portal by 3pm this Friday. Details of how to access the parent portal was provided at the end of last
term with your child’s report card. Please contact me via email if you need
assistance with accessing this.

Curriculum Capers for specialist areas (Visual Art, Music, Drama, Physical Education and LOTE-Indonesian)
will go home next week.
